Ray Wallace Shands

Mr. Ray Wallace Shands, age 62 of Spartanburg, SC, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born February 5, 1958 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Wilson and Lois Lyles Shands.  Ray had a charismatic spirit. He was witty and a social butterfly, who loved people.  His past time included playing bingo, eating various foods, watching baseball and rooting for the Carolina Panthers; he was a huge Cam Newton fan.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilson “Jack” Pearson and Roy P. Shands; paternal grandparents, Dugas and Arillie Shands; maternal grandparents, Will and Mary Lyles; and two brother-in-laws, William Campbell and JC Fuller.

Ray leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to: Four brothers, John L (Ellaree) Shands, Ellis Shands and Wayne (Reba) Shands, all of Spartanburg, SC and Dogan (Rosa) Shands of Roebuck, SC; four sisters, Doris Fuller, Arillie Wells, Cassie Campbell and Lessie (Dr. Willie) Ross, all of Spartanburg, SC; one sister-in Law, Geraldine Pearson; a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A devoted Christian, Ray is now resting in the care and keeping of a merciful and gracious God.
