Mary La’Vita Guinyard, 59, of Charlotte, NC folded her earthly tent and transitioned from labor to reward on Monday, October 28, 2019 to the care and keeping of a loving and merciful God, with whom she is now resting in everlasting peace. She went from time into eternity surrounded by family.
We honor a woman who we will always remember; one who left a lasting legacy and devoted herself to stretching forth her hand in helping many within her reach.
Mary was a sister, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will always be remembered in our hearts as a special person who was always ready with a word of advice, whether you asked for it or not. Her words were always to the point, and she would always seem to give advice for all who would listen.
Mary was a proud graduate of Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School, Class of 1979. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from South Carolina State University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Clarke University. Upon finishing her degrees, she worked tirelessly with Lucas Financial Services, Inc.
Mary was preceded in death by: her father, Harry "Peter" Lucas; mother, Blond Ceal Dantzler; stepfather, Sinclair Dantzler; uncles, Curtis Lucas, Robert L. Lucas, Charles Lucas, James Walker, Freddie Stroman, Addison Clay Mincer, and Henry Clay Garner; and aunt Margie La’Vita Holloway.
