Willie Porter Obituary

Mr. Willie Paul Porter entered into eternal rest March 24, 2019 at his home, after a brief illness.

A native of Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Mr. Jasper Mathis and Cirlee Porter. 

Mr. Porter was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he faithful served on the Men’s Usher Ministry until his health failed.

He was preceded in death by one son, M. Melvin Porter; one brother Jasper Porter, Jr; and one sister, Patricia Porter.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Linda Dogan Porter; one daughter LaBinka Wallace of Spartanburg; one son, Kendrick Smith of Georgia; one stepson, Anthony Stewart of Spartanburg; one brother, Terry (Phyllis) Porter of Spartanburg; one brother-in-law, Eugene (Fran) Dogan of Spartanburg; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Jessie Dogan; two granddaughters, DaBresia Rogers and Kimberly Long both of Spartanburg; one step-granddaughter Kennedi Harris of Rock Hill, SC; two great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; Godparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Miller; and a hosts of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2:00pm at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor, Dr. Keith McDaniel will be Officiating. 

Entombment with Military rites will immediately follow the funeral service at Lincoln Memorial Gardens.

Sacred arrangements have been entrusted to SERENITY-MURRAY MORTUARY.
