Betty Ruth Kelly

Ms. Betty Ruth Kelly of Duncan, SC gained her heavenly wings Friday, May 14, 2021 at Pelham Medical Center.  After a long and courageous battle with cancer, God called her to rest at the age of 61.  A native of Spartanburg, SC, she was born April 28, 1960, and was the daughter of the late Fred and Angelina Kelly.  She was a graduate of Spartanburg High School Class of 1976 and later attended Spartanburg Methodist College.  For 23 years she was employed at Adidas and later furthered her career at Magna Seating.

Betty was a devoted Christian and lover of God, her Spiritual Husband. She was a member of It's All About Him Christian Ministry of Spartanburg, where she served as an Usher. Through her faith and relationship with God, she gained strength, wisdom and understanding. She passed her beliefs onto her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Betty enjoyed crossroad puzzles, cooking, telling jokes, fellowshipping, offering a word of encouragement, helping others and meeting people.  It was over the last two years that her presence was truly felt by many.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Kelly; two sisters, Barbara Griffin and Carrie Crosby; and two brother-in-laws, Robert Lee Griffin and William Crosby.

Betty leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to: Her loving children, Chris (Charmicka) Kelly of Duncan, SC, Justin Kelly of Mauldin, SC and Cressendia (David) Berry of Spartanburg, SC; four brothers, Fredrick Lewis (Laura) Kelly of Boiling Springs, SC, AJ (Stella Geraldine) Kelly of Roebuck, SC; John (Sharon) Kelly of Atlanta, GA and Melvin (Angela) Kelly of Spartanburg, SC; one sister, Mary (Wallace) Phillips of Aliceville, AL; one sister-in-law, Sandra Kelly of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren, Chrishyia Kelly and Caleb Kelly, both of Duncan, SC, Nia Gogolinski of Glen Burnie, MD, Anessa Berry and Elijah Berry, both of Spartanburg, SC; a host of nieces and nephews; other loving relatives; and dear friends. 

The family is receiving friends and family at 402 Halford Lane, Apt. 106, Duncan, SC 29334.
