Calvin Long

Mr. Calvin Long, 63, husband of Christine Walker Long of Calhoun Falls, SC was born on January 18, 1957 in Hartwell, GA. He was the son of the late George Long and Ina Ruth Lewis Long. He was a man who loved his family, enjoyed ushering when he attended church, had a humble spirit and was always there when needed. What stood out most was his uplifting and infectious spirit!

In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by six siblings,  Ricky Long, Linzella Long, Jim Frank Long, Ruby Long, Harold Long and Lue Dean Long Martin.

Calvin leaves to mourn his passing but cherish the memories of his life: His loving wife of 33 years; four sons, Christopher Walker of Calhoun Falls, SC, James Walker of Greenville, SC, Chris (Bonita) Brown of Birmingham, AL, and Jerry (Shell) Brown of Atlanta, GA; three daughters, DeShannon Daniels of Statesville, NC, Calshika Long Sims of Elberton, GA and Greta Brown of Hartwell, GA; four brothers, JC (Marie) Long of Statesville, NC, Carey Carter and Joel Long both of Hartwell, GA, and Billy Wayne of Miami, FL; four sisters, Reba Joyce Long, Sarah Long, Barbara Long and Louise Eberhardt, all of Hartwell, GA; ten grandchildren, two of which were reared in the home, Chris Walker, Jr and Khalil Lewis; two special sister-in-laws, Ernestine (Frank) Reid and Lillie Walker, both of Calhoun Falls, SC; a host of special nieces and nephews; and other relatives and loving friends.

On Tuesday, October 6, 2020, the “Dancing Machine” danced his last dance. He will surely be missed.
