Cynthia Yvonne Reid

Our beloved Ms. Cynthia Yvonne Reid, 59, of Calhoun Falls, SC gained her heavenly wings Saturday April 25, 2020. After a long fight battling cancer, she peacefully transitioned to God’s open arms surrounded by family and friends. Born August 24, 1960 in Abbeville County, she was the daughter of the late Hattie Lee Reid.

Cynthia was always a joy to be around. She loved to cooked and was considered the best cook in the family. Her dishes represented the love she put into her cooking. She was instrumental in raising her nieces and nephews. Cynthia loved singing gospel songs. She was a member of Glovers AME Church in Calhoun Falls, SC where she faithfully served on the kitchen committee, adult choir and other areas, as needed. 

In addition to her mother, Cynthia was preceded in death by her brothers, Leroy Calhoun and Harold Wardlaw.

Cynthia leaves to cherish fond and loving memories: her son, Austin Reid of the home; five brothers, Willie Reid and Clarence (Bobbie) Reid both of Calhoun Falls, SC; John Reid of Lawrenceville, GA, Curtis (Evelyn) Reid of Calhoun Falls, SC and Rev. Lawrence (Lena) Reid of Warwick, RI; three sisters, Lovella (Charles) Turman of Calhoun Falls, SC, Jean Pearson of Mullin, SC and Sarah (Howard) Miller of Atlanta, GA; special families, The Belcher Family, Campbell Family, Cade Family and Banks Family; Christine Long and Ernestine Reid who served as her special caregivers; a host of nieces and nephews; and other family and friends. 

Cynthia will surely be missed. 

Sacred arrangements have been entrusted to SERENITY-MURRAY MORTUARY.
