Mr. Gerald Jerome Jeter entered into eternal rest at the age of 63. A native of Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Julia Mae Jeter and the late Jerry Jeter. Born October 3, 1957, Gerald was loved by many and had a multitude of friends. He loved his children and grandchildren, and was constant in their lives.
Gerald leaves to cherish the memories of his life: His mom of Buffalo, NY; two sons, Maurice Wilkins of Boiling Springs, SC and Tray Beaty of Spartanburg, SC; three daughters, Sonya (Jamaal) Walker of Spartanburg, SC, Chimere (Mitchell) Little and Marquita (Edward) Hemphill both of Boiling Springs, SC; one brother, Todd (Sandra) Moss of Spartanburg, SC; a special extended family member, Martha Moss of Spartanburg, SC; ten grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and other loving relatives and dear friends.
Gerald’s life journey was not one of ease. However, through hills and valleys, and with every step he drew closer to a loving, merciful, gracious and forgiving God. He read, meditated and studied the Bible, and often spoke with his children about God’s unchanging word. One of his favorite Books of the Bible was Ephesians. His final journey can be reflected in Ephesians 4:23-24, “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
Gerald will be forever missed as a father, brother, friend and man after God’s heart.
