Mr. Gregory Vaughn Keaton Sr. was born on February 17, 1955, in Camilla, Georgia to the late Cornelius Keaton and the late Josie Massey. He was raised in North Carolina then later moved to Staten Island, New York, and was educated in the New York public schools. He served in the United States Marines and was a Vietnam War Veteran. Additionally, Gregory was a member of the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Valdosta, Georgia, and the owner of GKIII Inc., East Coast BBQ Sauce.
In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his stepfather Sherman Wright and his sister Patricia Massey.
Mr. Gregory Vaughn Keaton Sr. departed this life on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
He leaves to mourn his passing but cherish the memories of his life; two sons, Gregory Keaton Jr (Tiffaney) of Orlando, FL and Akeem Keaton of Charlotte, NC; five daughters; EEsha Keaton-Cooper (Illya) of Summerville, SC; La Martinique Keaton of Valdosta, GA; Chloe Keaton, Latia Collins, and Elise Keaton all of Charlotte, NC; and a stepdaughter Angela Clark, of Virginia: nephew Monte Massey of Staten Island, NY; Seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loving friends.
He was a big man with a big heart that never met a stranger. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
