Gwendolyn Patricia (Eure) Hill

Mrs. Gwendolyn Patricia Hill, of Spartanburg S.C, was born on June 7, 1959 in Plainfield, New Jersey. Gwendolyn was the eldest daughter, of the late Henry and Alberta Eure. “Gwen”, as she was affectionately called, was educated in the Plainfield School System. She attended Plainfield High, where she sang in the high school choir.

After High School, she spent a few years in Community College in Colorado and Wyoming. She enjoyed singing in multiple local bands, where she was known for her “Fabulous Soprano Voice”.  The last band that she sang in 1989 was called “REFLECT”, where she met Richard Hill. They were married on July 20, 1991 In Plainfield, NJ, and enjoyed 30 years of Holy Matrimony. Richard had a son, Shannon Levar, whom Gwen accepted as one of her own. 

Prior to her disability, she held clerical positions, utilizing her writing abilities, penmanship, and creativity.  After leaving the workforce, she became a foster parent for abused children. Through that experience, she was blessed with the opportunity to adopt her daughter, Tyasia. 

Even though she was fighting health issues, she continued to be an active member of Cleveland Chapel Baptist Church of Whitney, SC. She enjoyed being a part of The Praise Team, and The Mass Choir.  She spent her final years, enjoying being a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Homemaker.  Gwen had a strong love for family, and stayed connected through video chatting. She would always give uplifting thoughts, and never failed to tell the family of her Love for our Savior, “Jesus Christ”. In one of her more memorable recent videos, she made sure to let the family know that we were all “Loved”, and that we were blessed.  Gwen loved to travel when able, and could not wait to spend time with her Brothers, Sisters, Nieces, Nephews and many friends.

At the time of her passing, she leaves behind a Loving Husband, Richard, a Son Shannon Hill of Miami, FL, a Daughter Tyasia of Spartanburg SC, two Sisters, Maxine A. McGowan of Fairburn, Ga, Darleen E. Eure of Chesterfield, MO, two Brothers, Eric D. Eure, Wife-Dawn of Havre de Grace, MD, and Anthony R. Coachman, Wife Nichole of Upatoi, Ga, two Grandchildren, Nylah Hill and Kashani Hill; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and Friends.
