Mr. Harris S. Oglesby Jr., affectionately known as “Big Worm,” entered eternal rest on February 4th, 2021 at Spartanburg Hospital of Restorative Care. He was born July 26, 1956 in Spartanburg, SC and was the son of the late Harris S. Oglesby Sr. and Naomi Jean Oglesby.
Mr. Oglesby leaves to cherish fond memories: His loving wife of 44 years, Vivian D. Oglesby; devoted mother-in-law, Elwillie Drummond; daughter, Kesha N. Oglesby; two sons, Nicholas V. Oglesby and Tyrone L. Oglesby, all of the home; four brothers, Roylee Oglesby, Raymond Oglesby, Victor Oglesby and Eugene Oglesby, all of Spartanburg, SC; three sisters, Carolyn Oglesby, Kathleen Oglesby, and Dorothy Lindsey all of Spartanburg, SC; eight grandchildren, Katodre Oglesby, T’Kearrah Oglesby, Jabari Oglesby, Tomavion Jeter, TeQuarius Jeter, and Jayvion Jeter; four great-grandchildren, Adreane Oglesby, Kaden Oglesby, Karter Meredith and Keyonnie Oglesby; two uncles, Ansel Oglesby and Willie B. Cross; one aunt, Edna Oglesby; one special goddaughter, Renada Smith; a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and dear friends
Mr. Oglesby drove as a long-distance truck driver but retired from Collins Grading & Company after many years of service. He never met a stranger and loved to converse with people. He will be truly missed.
