Mr. Haskell Richard Jr., 84, of Spartanburg, SC entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 9, 2020. He was born on March 4, 1936 to the union of the late Haskell Richard Sr. and Beatrice Hardy Brannon Richard Spartanburg, SC. Haskell accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Foster’s Grove Baptist Church, where he later became a Trustee and a Founder of the Men’s Choir. Haskell was employed by the government at Navel Shipyard in New York. He also was a truck driver for Trucking Logistics and was an employee at Spartanburg Regional.
In addition to his parents, Haskell was preceded in death by: His wife Willamina Valentine Richard; two daughters, Barbara Richard and Deborah Richard; four brothers, Benjamin Richard, Daniel Senior Richard, Paul Senior Richard and Charles Richard Sr; two sisters, Lenora Beason Boler and Wilma Kerns; and four grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Arthur Webb, James Webb and Londan Anderson.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Three sons, Chunga H. (Henritta) Matata formerly, Lambert Richard and Cedrick Wilkins both of Spartanburg, and James Webb of New York; three daughters, Trina (Eddie) Lewis and Rebecca Wilkins both of Spartanburg, and Lori Webb of New York; two brothers, James (Carole) Richard of Spartanburg, SC and Fredrick (Roslyn) Richard of Georgia; one sister, Mary Shands of Spartanburg; twenty-three grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four stepdaughters, Cynthia Webb, Ingrid Anderson, Candace Pruitt, Natasha Tucker and Macarria Stoval; two sister-in-laws, Loise Richard and Maudie Richard, both of Spartanburg; a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
