Magdelene “Maggie” (Palmer) Calhoun

Ms. Magdelene Palmer Calhoun, 100, entered into eternal rest on June 9, 2020 at McCormick Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in McCormick, SC.  Better known as Maggie, she was born July 16, 1919 and was the only child of the late John Palmer and Effie Callaham Palmer born. She was the widow of the late Fred Calhoun.

Maggie was a member of Martha’s Chapel United Methodist Church and was a Mother of the Church. She was also a member of Women’s Home Aid Society No.1.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jesse James Calhoun and god-son, Mario Antwan Settles.

Maggie is survived by her daughter, Freddie Mae Calhoun of the home; two nieces, Maggie Maddox and Henriett Whiteman both of New Haven, CT; one nephew, Eddie Davis of New Haven, CT; three special cousins, Bertram Callaham, Thomas Settles and Elizabeth Polly all of McCormick, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
