Mr. Shannon Centell Jeter, 40, peacefully into eternal rest Sunday, November 30, 2020 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center with his mother by his side. He was the son of Sara Sims and Vernon Sims. He was born on January 18, 1980 in Union, SC. Affectionally known by many as "Sims", Centell was a loving and caring man who loved being around his family. He enjoyed music, drawing and cheering on his favorite NFL team the Dallas Cowboys. Centell attended Corinth Baptist Church where he was baptized and attended Mrs. Mannie McBeth's Sunday School Class. Later in life, he relocated to Spartanburg, SC and joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Christian Day School Union and Spartanburg High. Centell was loved by many.
Centell was preceded in death by his grandfather James "Hoppie" (Daisy) Jeter.
Shannon leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories: His loving mom Sara Sims of Spartanburg, SC and dad, Vernon (Cynthia) Sims of Detroit, MI who supported him and whom he loved dearly; two brothers, Vern Sims and De’Shawn Sims Sr. of Spartanburg, SC; one sister, Loretta Sims of Spartanburg, SC; his maternal grandmother, Loretta Sims of Detroit, MI; his grandfather, Cleotis (Daisy) Sims of Detroit, MI; six nephews, Roderick Brown, Michael Thompson, Elijah King, Karysan Ferguson, Carmello Sims, and De'Shawn Sims Jr.; nine nieces; one great nephew; He also leaves behind to cherish his memories and a host of other relatives and friends.
